INFORMER: ELECTRONIC CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND THE EUROPEAN UNION
U32 MAIL, an advanced system for the electronic management of documents sent by the European Union to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been successfully
installed by the information technology company Informer.
The company overview all the stages of the project through to completion: design, planning, development, modification, parameterization, and procurement of the necessary equipment and installation of the application. Furthermore, Informer trained the personnel of the ministry responsible for using the system.
The new system makes the communication between the foreign ministry and the European Union easier, faster and simpler, and thus makes a direct contribution to the way in which Greece’s foreign policy is conducted.
From a technical point of view, U32 works with the central Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and also functions as databank for external users. The use is through controlled access with a high degree of security. U32 consists of two autonomous subsystems. The first is responsible for the receipt, integration and management of documents within the existing EDMS, while the second files them and distributes them externally.
